ICAAP11 – Call for Abstracts

ICAAP11 Call for Abstracts

Be there, make a difference!

Over the last 20 years, the International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) has become the largest forum in the region for people and community affected by and interested in the issue of HIV/AIDS.

The 11th ICAAP is to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 18 – 22 November 2013.

There are many ways to get involved and directly contribute to triggering new and innovative HIV/AIDS responses at ICAAP11. You can submit an abstract, apply to run sessions and if you need help getting to the Congress, apply for a scholarship.

First and foremost, you need to be there. Registering for the Congress is quick and simple and can be done by clicking here.

Submit your abstract:

Submitting an abstract lets you share your knowledge and experience with your peers, and gets your work recognized by experts in your field.

You will also have the chance to be viewed in a way never seen before at ICAAP, on our e-posters. These monitors will let our 4,000+ delegates quickly browse all selected abstracts by Theme and Region to make sure they don’t miss anything that interests them.

If your abstract is outstanding you may be selected to present it orally and all selected abstracts will be available in the Abstract Book.

Submit your proposals:

You also have the opportunity to directly pass on your knowledge by running a session. There session types are available to you: Symposium SessionsSatellite Sessions and Skill Building Workshops.

Symposium sessions are some of the largest that will take place at ICAAP11. Held in rooms with capacity for 500-600 people, they will be an opportunity for key speakers to present scientific, socio-political and socio-economic advances as well as best practices and lessons learnt.

Satellite sessions present a more intimate environment for organizations to present specific information to targeted groups, while skill building workshops are the perfect place to actively pass on knowledge.

The theme and the three tracks:

The theme of this year’s Congress is “Asia/Pacific Reaching Triple Zero: Investing in Innovation” which highlights the region’s ambition of achieving Triple Zero through Innovative means.

The theme has been used to design the three tracks that all abstract and proposal submissions must fall under.

  •  Track A: Getting to Zero New HIV Infections
  •  Track B: Getting to Zero AIDS-related Deaths
  •  Track C: Getting to Zero Discrimination

More information available here.

Scholarships:

We provide a limited number of scholarships to ensure that those who can make a real difference don’t miss out. Scholarships are open to delegates working or volunteering in the field of HIV/AIDS in Asia and the Pacific who will not be able to participate in ICAAP11 due to financial restrictions.

Scholarship applicants need to demonstrate a commendable ability to acquire knowledge and skills that, through Congress participation, could then be transferred to his/her organization or community.
